Cocoa Rush

Description

In this short and cozy game, you are the sole provider of hot chocolate in your small town. You will need to heat up your milk and assemble your ingredients into a mug to satisfy your customers orders. Your menu consists of 3 options: chocolate, warm milk and a hot cocoa (combination of chocolate and warm milk) 

This game was made in under 3 days for the Cozy Winter 2023 game jam. The theme was "Better Together" and what's better than some warm milk and chocolate on a chilly day.

How to Play

Controls:

WASD or Arrow keys to move

Left-Click: Place items

Right-Click: Pick up items

Left Click also interacts with the items:

•  On a mug when you have chocolate in you hand to place the chocolate in the mug
• On the pot when you have cold milk in you hand to start heating the milk
• On the pot when you have a mug in your hand to add warm milk to the mug.

Ingredients must be placed in a mug to serve (including the plain chocolate order) once you have the order place it near the NPC and they should walk away. If not, pick up the order and try to place it closer to the NPC (and check you have the correct order).

Update: You can also use K and L keys instead of right and left click to make it easier for laptop users (web version only)

Tips and Tricks

The spawn rate of ingredients is related to the number of open spaces on the counter. You can clear up more space for ingredients to spawn if you place items in the center of the stall. This will make more ingredients spawn faster but it will make it more challenging for you to get around. 

Similarly you can add ingredients to mugs and store future orders  but make sure you save enough resources for the current order.

You can also throw away milk by adding more milk to a full pot. You will however only get 1 milk. While it can help in clearing out extra milk, if you do it too much you will end up needing to wait for more milk to spawn.
